The Pros and Cons with Including Graphic Designs in Your Emails

Email marketing has in many ways taken over for the age-old method of cold-calling people in order to make sales. It is an immensely popular marketing strategy, thanks in large part to the relatively low cost.

Email marketing can be done in a number of different ways, but each have their pros and cons. Deciding upon whether or not to include images and other graphical designs is one such issue, and its consequences are greater than you might imagine.

Including images increases the size of an email, and for those who are using their phones to download that data, they might not appreciate the extra cost. This could mean that the likelihood of them blacklisting your email (bad thing to happen) is going to increase.

Other email management systems and server firewalls will block images from being automatically downloaded from all senders who haven’t been added to a safe senders list. The effect of this is that your email will have big blank spots which serve no practical use other than to ruin the reader’s experience. This can also have a massive affect on the results of an email marketing campaign.
