So you have an idea, a concept and a means of funding. What next? Building an online shop will allow your business to operate from literally anywhere in the world as long as you have the means to satisfy the supply and demand.

There are many stand alone sites, social media sites and dedicated apps to be able to build your own store. It is worth looking into the functionality and fitness for purpose when designing your site.

How many items do you stock? Is there manual or automatic stock tracking? Are there buffer level reminders? Is there mobile app integration? What is the user experience like? How much customisation and maintenance does the site require? Does it have reports built in to the system?

That is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes down to your individual and bespoke requirements for your shop. That is a good starting point, the rest is up to you.
