Tidying up your URLS
A tidy URL structure is a godsend for search engine optimisation. Google loves websites that are organised, brimming with informative copy and easy to navigate. Messy URLS can be bad for search engines and users, so make sure your developer isn’t forgetting one of the most important aspects. To make tidy URLs it’s important to keep things simple. Let’s say you have an about page, the URL for that page should be something like this:
www.yourbusiness.com/about
And not:
www.yourbusiness.com/more-on-us-124235
Clean and tidy URLs are good practice and the best developers will know just how important they are. Make sure you speak about the URLS as well as the design and functionality of the site when you’re meeting potential developers. Some will focus on design, others will focus on website speed, but a good developer will look at all of the aspects and deliver a website that meets your requirements.
